11:30-12:30 Community Roundtable Discussion (building opens at 10:45)
12:45 Press Conference
Senator Mark Dayton's Progress Report on No Child Left Behind Law
Galtier Magnet School Cafeteria, 1317 Charles Ave

Senator Dayton will present his findings from listening to parents across Minnesota on
their concerns about the federal No Child Left Behind legislation and describe his
proposed legislative amendments.

Senator Steve Kelley, Education Minnesota, the Minnesota School Boards Association,
the Minnesota Association of School Administrators and Schools for Equity in Education
will be there.

PARENTS, EDUCATORS, AND ST PAUL COMMUNITY: this is our chance to show our commitment
to responsible, principled education reform. Please forward this release broadly and
plan to be there!!!!

ALSO, Commissioner Yecke IS STILL SAYING all she's heard from parents is THEY LIKE the
Star Rating System and the Social Studies Standards. Senator Kelley is saying he's
not hearing from business and civic leaders. It is essential that we weigh in on
these issues. See the Senate Education Committee testimony at NEAT > Commentary and
let our elected representatives know what you think! The cc list is important to
refuting the claim "no one is speaking up on these issues."
