When is a budget cut not a budget cut?

When you take the money away, but then later on slip it back retroactive to the date the pretended cut went into effect!

Yes, despite the busloads of ADM-paid farmers who came to town last year to shill for the ethanol industry, they had to (gasp!) bear some of the burden of the state's huge deficit by giving up a third of their multi-million dollar subsidies. But now, House File No. 2716 restores the subsidy to its pre-crisis 20 cents per gallon and MAKES IT RETROACTIVE back to last July. No cut at all for these profitable private industries!

So your Cities and towns still don't have local aid, your schools are closing, your kids' class sizes are growing, your elderly neighbors aren't getting home health care, 65,000 Minnesotans are without the
health insurance assistance they used to have, the Met Council says that bus routes and driver health insurance must be cut, the roads are not being repaired, etc... etc....

However the STINKING ethanol industry somehow feels that they get to go back and undo the cuts that were made to their subsidies. After all, why should Bruce Hendry (Biggest GOP donor in the state), ADM (We own all the food you eat), Glenn Nelson (Fifth richest family in the state), and the Cargills (Ninth richest in the state) have to bear any part of the state's financial difficulties?

Any minimal moral authority this "green fuel" (what a crock a C.R.A.P. that is) ever brought to the table has been spent tenfold in the sneaky actions like we've seen at the legislature recently.

They are still in session folks, and if your not watching, Your Tax Dollars, Your Kids, Your Health are at stake. All the while those that really don't need it are at the feeding trough pigging out on all the delicious Subsidies.

Ummmm Subsidies sure wish I was rich enough to get some of them subsidies..... How about a Latte Subsidy? I know the coffee business has been down for us, and it would be great if they would let us feed at the trough like the rest of the PIGS.
