I don't know Brett has a fear of sodomy and polygamy
but they seem like legitimate questions that should be
addressed when heading down this road. There is some
"line" where marriage should end and determining where
that line is now seems reasonable. I also echo the
questions on insurance. Maybe someone better at
running numbers can say if financially it would be a
benefit for simple friends to get married to gain
health benefits. Family coverage is generally a large
bump from single but I know my personal single
coverage bought from BCBS has a high premium, high
deductable, no prescription coverage and pays %80
after the deductable is settled. I'd consider a legal
marriage to a buddy of mine to get on his coverage.
need to run the numbers first.

Personally, I am not sure that marriage is a basic
human right. Still I am also not sure an amendment to
the constitution is the way to go for those who
oppose.

as for how i think this relates to st paul? As far as
I can see, all a resolution in favor or not in favor
will accomplish is it will get St. Paul on a list of
cities for groups to use for or against passage at a
state or federal level.

Good discussion. I am interested in reading more
opinions.
