Talk about personal service! Yesterday I put a post on e-democracy re: the trash house located at 1822 Iglehart and discussed the importance of the new City of St. Paul web site in tracking these issues. When I got home last night there was a message on my answering machine from Andy Dawkins explaining the complexity of the issues at that address. Turns out that there are duling lawsuits, tenants who will not let the owner on the property, city clean up orders, etc. etc. Finally the city decided to cut bait and sent in a crew to do some external clean up, so now the mess is at least in rows and the tumbled down tents have been removed.

I think the housing web site will be a valuable tool in monitoring these
problem properties, but obviously at least on this occasion, it did not
reflect the full scale of the (so far) unsuccessful effort the city has
made.

I was impressed by the call and the effort made to date. By all means
visit the web site, and complain about the problems, 'Our Guy' in
housing is committed to making it better.

Well I wonder what this housing site will do to restore my property rights. To rezone my property to residential vs industrial? will the city pick up the tons of particulet matter on my property, and charge GSE, or will GSE use it to complain that my grass is too tall and bringing down thier property value?
