The following resolution, with 5 Councilmembers' signatures has been introduced at today's city council meeting. It will lay over two weeks for final adoption but will be supported by the majority of the City Council and the Mayor of the City of Saint Paul, Minnesota's second largest city.

Whereas, one of the primary purposes of our Minnesota Constitution is to secure and protect the civil liberties and rights of all of our people; and

Whereas, people of good will have different opinions on how and whether to address the rights and privileges for consenting adult couples who wish to recognize their unions but have historically not been permitted to marry; and

Whereas, many such couples live in St. Paul or have families in St. Paul;

Therefore be it resolved that the City of Saint Paul goes on record in opposition to a proposed amendment to the Minnesota Constitution prohibiting marriage other than between one man and one woman or the equivalent thereof

An accompanying letter will be conveyed to the Saint Paul/ Ramsey Delegation stating:

Dear Senator Moua and Representative Paymar,
Enclosed is a resolution introduced today in the Saint Paul City Council. A majority
of the Council has expressed its intention to pass this resolution at our next
meeting. Mayor Kelly has indicated he will sign the resolution upon its passage.

Sincerely,
Dave Thune
Councilmember, Ward 2
City of Saint Paul

I have nothing against, this resolution It means piligimy is one step away. any while this issue deserves a resilution, so does the restoring ethanol subisdies to 20 cents reto active, to at least one company that has not operated legealy for one single day. A stadium bill that will not require local residence to be able to say no, to new taxes.

So now if I decide to change sexual orintation, the city is behind me.
But if I want to raise a child will it have a safe enviorment to grow up in?
Will that child be able to play in the dirt, sandbox,
 breathe the air, get free ear plugs from the city state?
