Excuse me for a moment...it's just been so long that I've read an honest answer....ah, there. Congratulations! You Mary Baker, are hereby duly noted as this forums honest person of the day! And as for the rest of you mumpsimus: Since you all appear to suffer from acute idealogicly induced myopia, I'll remind you that I assigned Senator Moua and her immigrant parents the same exact same level of "Americanism" as I can claim for myself and my immigrant grandparents. > I state: Where did he claim to speak for all of > "us?" Anything he puts out there that has "The City of Saint Paul" attached to it speaks for all of us Mary. >Why is it > that moralists only > admire those who stand up for beliefs they happen to > agree with, and condemn > as shifty and spineless those who stand up for > beliefs in opposition? Talk > about hypocrisy. (Thats four: bigot, speciest, racist and now moralist...please stop, you'll make my head swell ;-) Like I said, in this instance, Thune is taking a position on an issue that has not only deeply divided the citizens of SP, but in fact are counter to the position that the majority of the city, the state and the country holds. He is a duly elected representative of the poeple of Saint Paul. He is free to do as he pleases. He is not free to do so without hearing the people he represents. Now I've really got to get back out there and collect some more signatures for Mr. Thune to ignore. Congratulations again Mary!
