Hello list participants!
Just a quick note to update all of you on our strategic planning process and chapter exploration.
As you may know, Minnesota E-Democracy has appointed me as chair of a steering committee to formally become a chapter of the organization. The goal of this process is to enable fundraising and greater outreach into the St. Paul community in a more direct attempt in engage residents in St. Paul issues and connect them with the resources they need to affect the process.
Tim Erickson has already begun some fundraising to help prepare for the long-term goals being established by this group.
The steering committee has had one formal meeting, and we plan on spending the next six weeks doing the following:
-- solidifying a vision for St. Paul E-Democracy -- creating a charter for the organization -- proposing our intentions to the full Minnesota E-Democracy board
We will be asking for input from the full list toward the end of this month, so stay tuned. We'll also be planning some information "office hours" at local establishments so you can meet with members of the steering committee to discuss your thoughts. Your thoughts and suggestions, as well as your willingness to donate your financial resources and time, will be welcome and necessary to the success of the endeavor. In the meantime, if you have any general thoughts you'd like to express please feel free to let me know.
