The above article was in the news yesterday and it reminds me of some similar case we had here in the Twin Cities a few months ago. Wasn't there a question asked to a candidate for public office, who asked the police chief to confiscate the 3x5 the question was on, then intimidated local media (including, apparently, this forum) into not revealing the question?

While the question itself is irrelevant to me, the idea that someone in power might arbitrarily decide that some elements of public discourse be destroyed, without appeal, just because it made them look bad or feel uncomfortable or they had a wild hair up their bum that day, *is* disturbing to me.

Though apparently Scalia would agree that any public official should have the right to confiscate anything their audience might have.
