Sorry, Mary, I didn't realize you were so vulnerable. You didn't mention
any of this in our private e-mail exchange. In fact, you seemed confident
enough to object in no uncertain terms, more than once, to having your
forum turned into a series of advertisements. You certainly weren't shy
about disagreeing with the Supreme Court, either. Saayyy, you wouldn't be
attacking me in private and crying "Foul!" in public, would you?

But then, you weren't one of those who professed not to be able to
distinguish between a vendor and a political canvasser, anyway. Or were
you? I can't remember. The point of my little charade is, of course, that
there is most definitely a difference between an advertisement and a
political expression and everyone knew that immediately and intuitively
withOUT any help from the Supreme Court. But you caught on to that right
away, too.

So I guess I wasn't really making fun of you, dear, just kind of amused at
the vehemence of your insistence that advertisements have no place in your
forum for exchange of political ideas. I quite agree. Forgive an old
teaser for playing a sad little trick that didn't really fool anryone.
