As I said before, it seems to me - that Kelly's endorsement of Bush has quite legitimately raised the question of how Presidential politics relates to St. Paul.

This discussion is about more than who Kelly plans to vote for. It has been suggested, that his endorsement of Bush is problematic, because of how Bush's policies affect cities (including our own). It has been suggested, that this endorsement is BAD for St. Paul.

What has been lacking in our forum (since this issue came up), is any discussion about how Bush policies might differ from Kerry's policies in relation to cities, specifically St. Paul?

Does anyone care to share some specific thoughts on how a Bush or Kerry presidency might affect St. Paul, as city, in differing ways?

Is there any way to take this discussion beyond "party loyalty" and theories about "political ambitions" and get to the important issues that affect St. Paul?

NOTE: This is only a temporary foray into presidential politics for our forum. Normally (absent Kelly's RECENT endorsement), I would consider this off-topic.
