Let me start off by saying I posted a mistake in that David Shove is not the Chair of the St Paul Greens anymore. So I guess he is speaking for himself.

Actually David, the DFL does not get involved in the local races with money. The local DFL supplied plenty of workers and probably the most money they've given to a Mayoral candidate. I don't think Vance gave a dime to the state DFL in 2001. It's not listed. So, why would they give a damn what he had to say. Just months before, he backed another candidate for Congress while the DFL got behind Betty McCollum. He lost. How much influence can an individual have over an organization that can raise it's own money and win elections? You heard nothing and are just presenting rumors an more innuendos. I was around and your version is the furthest from what happened. David says: Vance effectively vetoed > several DFL endorsees > who weren't enuf "business-friendly" for him. And > no, I DON'T like it. And > there's no reason for anyone else to like it either. OK here it is. He doesn't veto shit, the voters decide. You don't like him because he's rich. Never mind the many things and people he support that stregnthen the progressive movement. You just don't like the guy for being born into the family he was. I think the fact that he is not a Bush pioneer is amazing and use to effectivly hand Jason Lewis his ass on their political show weekly. So while he is putting his effort forth to make it hard for Republicans to do what they do, you sit back and bitch becuase he's rich. You know, your Ralph Nader is a Harvard grad millionaire.
