Dear Paul Kuettel,
I will not defend Andy Dawkins endorsement of Randy Kelly. That is his business.
I will, however, vehemently defend Andy's current work. Andy's restructuring of St.
Paul's Code Enforcement Department has been extremely hard work with, I believe,
fantastic results. All politics aside, Mayor Kelly made an excellent decision hiring
Andy. With his legal background and understanding of the St. Paul community, Andy
Dawkins is the antidote to city bureaucracy.
Speaking for the District 7 Planning Council (Frogtown neighborhood) the new
Neighborhood Housing and Property Improvement Office (formally called Code
Enforcement) has made large and lasting improvements. Since Andy has taken over, my
experience has been like night and day compared to the old procedures of administering
enforcement of code violations. Frogtown is a cleaner, stronger neighborhood, thanks
to Andy.
The Andy Dawkins I know is a hard working, kind individual, that always puts the needs
of others above his own. He takes his job seriously and makes decisions with
knowledge and fairness. He tries to help anyone who seeks assistance and listens to
everyone's stories. I cannot think of anyone more qualified to make our city the most
visually pleasing it can be.
I may sound like I'm stumping for Andy's next election, but I promise you that this
letter is sincere. It is especially upsetting when a resident from Falcon Heights
dares to tarnish the good name of a beloved St. Paulite.
Sincerely,
Tait A. Danielson
Organizer, District 7 Planning Council
and West 7th Neighbor
This was Paul Kuettel's original message:
Hi All!
With all the calls for Randy Kelly's head, what would happen to the
invisible
man who was last seen in Code Enforcement? It's kind of amazing how
invisible
Andy Anderson-Dawkins has become. With the nice office and salary and
lack of
real work to do, I wonder what he thinks of Randy's courageous stand?
I googled Andy and found out just how invisible he is -- there is a
nice young
computer programmer of the same name that produces many more hits.
However, I found this and was pleasantly surprised to hear how we
Republicans
helped him pass his signature legislation. Perhaps Smoke'n Andy is,
like Randy,
beginning to see the light! ;-)
See you at St. Paulau Festival!
Paul K
