I am on digest mode (in more ways that I care to discuss) so rejoinders have only recently been received. I stand on my point, but will confess that I am not privy to the underlying machinations and politics regarding the issue of visual pollution. I can only refer you to a couple of neat books by Larry Millett http://www.tpt.org/lostcity/ Plenty of billboards, plenty of charm. How much did it cost St Paul to re-install the old copper streetlamps? Thank goodness PW saved some. Forward looking, yet fiscally responsible. Started w/Latimer, I think, but I was young. Sheibel sucked but has had a Peter Prinicpled life, Nahm was a great cheerleader in the mold of Smilin' George -- lots of debt taken on but Nahm was arguably better on the investment side. Kelly.
