Vote Democratic (contact information here on the MN Campaign Finance website http://www.cfboard.state.mn.us/campfin/PCFDetail/PCF60039.html) to ask him about the claim he made on Garage Logic with substitute host, Dave Thompson, that Senator Michele Bachmann had inspired him. I asked him whether Bachmann or the Minnesota Family Council had helped him with the website content or design, and he denied that. He also said he was legally independent of the Republican Party of Minnesota - and that coordination would have been illegal (true). He also mentioned that some Republicans had told him he was making the party look bad. He said there are about 200 donors to his organization, and that he has personally put around $25,000 into this effort. He said the rest of the donors were in his report - but said a few donors had contributed most of the funding.
We also discussed the incident where his volunteer driver was arrested.

Davis claimed that the 911 call (with the driver and a 911 operator) will prove that the St Paul Police officer was overly aggressive with Kuznia the driver - and the driver was closing the window because he was being physically threatened by the officer. I asked Davis whether the driver was planning on making an internal affairs complaint on the officer. He said they were focused on defending the driver from the charges.
The website for the Minnesota Citizens in Defense of Marriage group has a plea for help with the legal defense of the driver. The guy is currently unemployed.

It will be interesting to see what happens to the charges against Kuznia. I told Davis, that if he really believed this was an instance of police brutality, he has the obligation to make an internal affairs complaint to the St Paul police. It's rather telling they won't make that complaint.
