Make Cakes, Not War! Flour Power is Here.

Concerned bakers will offer their goods this Saturday, September 18, to
benefit a John Kerry and a Democratic future. "Flour Power", the
brainchild of three Twin Cities residents will be held in two locations
in St. Paul and Minneapolis from 7:00 a.m. until the baked goods are
gone. Home baked goods from over 100 different bakers will be on hand
for people to sample with a nominal donation requested.

The trio of Twin Cities Moms, Rhonda DeBough-Insook, Debbie Nelson and
Jane Kirchhofer, organized Flour Power explaining "We're thee Moms
with young children and we're concerned about the direction this
country is going and about our childrens future. We had to do
something but it is hard for us to find time to do a lot of door
knocking, phone calling or other political activities. But we can get
people together, get them talking and active. And we can bake."

Locations for the FLOUR POWER events are outside the Black Dog Cafe in
St. Paul, 4th and Broadway across from the St. Paul Farmers Market and
at the Audubon Cafe in Northeast Minneapolis at the corner of 29th and
Johnson.

In addition to the fresh bakery items to sample, there will be a voter
information table and each location will feature music performance. In
St. Paul, frequent Prairie Home Companion guest, guitarist Adam Granger
will appear.

All donations will be made to support the internet organization,
moveonpac.org or the DFL party of Minnesota, whichever the donor
prefers.

Hours for Flour Power at each location are 7:00 a.m. until the bakery
items run out. Join concerned bakers for change in St. Paul and
Minneapolis on Saturday, September 18 for Flour Power.

"We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than
in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than
another, it is the same as if we said that the one is more advanced in improvement
than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is
to say that the people are rich. There are many expenses necessary in a civilized
country for which there is no occasion in one that is barbarous. If the public
buildings, judges, and other offices are not supported, and if they be neglected,
disorder will ensue."
