Most of them are now subscribed to our list - and should feel free to introduce themselves or ask questions of other list members (they weren't expecting this).
:-)
(ALSO - If some of our existing members want to reintroduce themselves to our new participants, now would be a good time.)
One of the things that we discussed this afternoon, was potential topics for a series of "one week focused discussions" which the students might help organize later this fall.
Some of the topics that we considered, included:
- Lite Rail on University Ave. - The Stadium Debate - Housing Issues - How St. Paul is Dealing with influx of Hmong Refugees - District Council Land Use Plans - Arts in St. Paul - Police Community Relations - Campus Creep - Gentrification of some St. Paul neighborhoods - District Council Funding - Racial divides in St. Paul schools - Ayd Mill Road - Transportation Issues in General - Zoning of Adult Business (see Love Doctor) - Billboards - Redevelopment of vacant breweries - Revitalizing Downtown St. Paul
- And many more..........
In your opinion, what are the "HOT" public policy issues in St. Paul? What issues might merit some extra attention in our "topics" forum? And why that topic?
What St. Paul Issues have we been neglecting?
