This is not your ordinary post, but is about one of ours. Long time St. Paul citizen Judith C. (Connie) Green, who just happened to be my friend since college, died this spring. I am her Personal Representative (AKA executor). In addition to her legacy of friendship, she left a most generous financial legacy to numerous nonprofit organizations including Friends of the St. Paul Public Library, Second Chance Animal Rescue, Ramsey County Humane Society, Little Brothers/Friends of the Elderly, Como Conservatory and Twin Cities Public Television. Her entire retirement savings went to nonprofit organizations and the residual of most of the rest of her estate goes to benefit the community charities she believed in.
That is the good news. Now for the bad news. Connie loved to shop. To shop. To shop! She filled her duplex with art work (Associated American Artists, numerous others), collectibles from her world travels (Buddas/Sivas, paintings, etc.), antique furniture, fine linens, modern production oriental rugs, hand made quilts, and jewelry, both fine and costume. Now I need to sell it with most proceeds going to her favorite nonprofits. If you would like to help me thin out the estate and put some cash in the charitable coffers, send me an e-mail and I will send you details.
