hour 60,000 Minnesotans earn between $5.15 to $6.15 an hour Over
100,000 men, women and children would benefit from increasing the minimum
wage

Of the twenty-five fastest growing occupations in the state, including
home health aides and clerical workers, half do not pay enough to support
a one-bedroom apartment - Office of the Legislative Auditor

If we're going to have $8 an hour jobs, we need $8 an hour housing -

is $17,556. In order for a family of this size to afford a two bedroom
fair market rent, they must make at least $24,051 annually. National Low
Income Housing Coalition's 2000 Report "Out of Reach"

 The average rent for a one-bedroom apartment is $675.30 a month. A
medical assistant working for $10.80 an hour would have to work 59 hours a
week to afford a one-bedroom apartment, and 67 hours a week to afford a
two-bedroom apartment.

For every 10 homeless people
       3 are men
       3 are women
       3 are children under 16
       1 is an unaccompanied teenager
