Hi Jack! The Renaissance Box is a lovely old renovated shoe factory across from the Embassy Suites. It has a theater space which is used by two theater companies - Gremlin Theatre and Starting Gate Theater. It has some business tenants, a coffee shop - the Magic Carpet Cafe - and reasonably priced space for large and small events. I held a campaign event there - the space was fantastic and the staff was really helpful. The place also has a really cool Bazaar in the basement with several venders (which I know you would love) and a "lounge club" where, for a small monthly fee, members can come and watch satellite T.V. from all over the world and movies. I guess it qualifies as a unique space of citizenship.
