"Two weeks ago we attended a very interesting fundraiser for Ward 2 City Council Member Dave Thune (DFL). The event was held at Summit Manor, the home of Judy McLaughlin. Outside ten or so members of the Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees Union (HERE) held a picket against Thune and Summit Manor."

"The announcement on Friday by Ramsey County Commissioner Sue Haigh (DFL) of not seeking the post of mayor in 2005 has started a raft of calls for additional people. With it appearing the remaining field is limited to Ramsey County Commissioner Rafael Ortega (DFL) and former City Council Member Chris Coleman (DFL) as the only opponents for Mayor Randy Kelly (DFL) some want other options."
