This came through my email box at work and I'm passing it along in case
anyone's interested.

Hello everyone,
We have decided to extend the workshop proposal deadline one last time as
several interested people have been out of town, state and country for the
holidays. The last and final deadline for workshop proposals to reach me is
Thursday, January 20. There are several topic gaps let at this time which
we are more than interested in covering. Eating Disorders, self-mutilation
and body image, female gang activity, working with immigrant populations,
GLBTQ issues, rituals and rites of passage, clashing of cultures between
American youth and immigrant youth, and many more I'm sure. If you feel you
have a workshop that could address one of these issues or something else I
haven't mentioned, please don't hesitate to submit a proposal. For those of
you who may not know much about the conference or about presenting
workshops, here are some logistics:
*Workshop presenters are not paid an honorarium, however they may attend the
conference for free on the day they present
*Workshop presenters are given 2 free lunches per workshop, any additional
lunches are only $10 for workshop presenters
*Workshop presenters may attend the other day of the conference for a
reduced fee of $60 per person (this includes lunch)
This is the 15th annual conference and is shaping up to be quite impactful.
If you feel you have great information, techniques, or creative learning
opportunities for working with adolescent females please share your
resources with others in the field. I look forward to seeing many new
proposals in the next few days. Please fax or e-mail the proposals to
ensure they are seen by the planning committee after the 20th. Thank you
for considering and I hope I see each of you attend the conference in April
even if you don't present a workshop. Make sure to check out the website
after February 1st for all the new information including our star line-up
for keynote addresses.
Sincerely,
Molly Oberweiser
