Kelly already has $250,000 in war chest
Ortega, Coleman report $22,000 combined

St. Paul Mayor Randy Kelly may have not announced yet that he's running for
re-election, but he has nearly $250,000 in the bank, according to campaign
reports filed with Ramsey County on Monday.
It's more than 10 times the war chest he had to begin his 2001 campaign and
nearly half of the $500,000 he spent on the mayor's race. ...[snip]
Kelly's campaign, though, has already kicked into financial high gear... He
[Kelly] has also been raising money prodigiously in recent days at O'Gara's Bar
& Grill and during a recent fund-raising trip to Florida. Records show he
raised $7,000 in that state last month alone, nearly 10 percent of his
year-to-date total for 2005.
Filings with Ramsey County show that about 30 percent of his 1,216 contributors
last year were from St. Paul. There have been about 313 since Jan. 1, and about
40 percent of those are from St. Paul.
