I think it is safe to say, that most of the folks I have spoken with on the
West Side, would not be voting for him. I think that the Ethanol Plant issue
was the final straw.

I hope those straw polls don't reflect reality, and geez, I had hoped that
Chris Coleman would have stayed out of St. Paul politics. The job must be
  going bad again.

Here's a guy who the Pioneer Press (I guess I can selectively use them)
noted had 'people problems' and needed to mature.

The same guy, when our neighborhood group lined up the Dispute Resolution
Center and our Community Council to handle a difference of opinion, and
then after working to set up a meeting time for everyone involved, wanted
everyone to change their plans so he could mediate (at that point he was
the last person we wanted as a mediator), and when we couldn't drop
everything for him decided to label us as people who couldn't keep a
promise in front of the council. When asked why he choose to trash us, he
noted 'I said what I said'.

The same guy, in some sort of fit of pique, decided to falsely represent
what City staff told him (later to be documented in sworn deposition) and
to falsely represent what a letter signed by 19 of 20 neighbors involved
said, again, to his colleagues on the council. Perhaps to continue to
punish the upstarts in our neighborhood. Perhaps inexperience. This started
during his second month on the council.

And finally, when a constituent and his wife sent a letter to him noting
these issues, and further suggesting the honorable thing to do was to
resign, made sure the letter ended up in the hands of a City Department
Director where the constituent worked for the sole purpose of intimidation.

Do we really want a person with so little control of himself? Do we really
want a person willing to sacrifice integrity to get his way? And do we
really want a person with such lack of judgement and honor that would
forward a private letter from a constituent to their boss, or to anyone
else for that matter? What do you call a person like that?

A couple of years ago I ran into Chris and asked him when he would come
clean. His reply was that he wished to put all of that behind him. I would
have been, have been, ok with that, but the guy has to go and decide to
seek DFL endorsement for Mayor. How disappointing.

And if the DFL endorses him, disregarding what he did with 4th
Congressional endorsement process, and disregarding other more honorable
and mature candidates, that will also be disappointing realization that the
DFL continues to seek 'names' and not substance.
