We are excited to announce that 4th Ward City Council Member and our most
recent
DFL-endorsed candidate for Mayor, Jay Benanav, is enthusiastically
supporting
Rafael Ortega and will be attending caucuses Tuesday on his behalf. Jay is
supporting Rafael because he is a consistent and effective progressive and
can
revitalize Saint Paul.
DFL caucuses -- on Tuesday, March 1st, 7:00pm -- mark the start of our
effort
to take back city hall !!!
We hope you will become a delegate for Rafael Ortega, the only progressive
DFL
candidate running for mayor of St. Paul.
Rafael can win with your support. He's been elected three times from our
highest voter turn-out area - Ward 3. He's been overwhelming elected 3
times in
Ward 2. As our list demonstrates Rafael has support throughout St. Paul.
He can
bring new voters to the polls including Hmong, Somali and Latino voters.
He can
mobilize progressives and union members, light rail, social and economic
justice
activists and the disability community because of his strong record of
leadership,experience and advocacy.

supported the DFL endorsed candidate for mayor in 2001-- Jay Benanav, he
supported DFL endorsed Congresswoman Betty McCollum in her primary race in
2000 and unlike Randy Kelly he supported John Kerry in 2004.

funding and against Republican cut backs to local governments.
