I think I'm going to just save a bio and use it in the future...
Even though I don't currently live in the Saintly city, I consider it to
be my hometown. I was a 10 year resident of ward 2. During my time on
Randolph Avenue, I was a neighborhood activist and supporter of many of
the issues that we talk about here.
I worked on council member Thune's campaign for 11 months, only voted
Republican once (Arnie Carlson - when I was in college, before I knew
better) and now serve as the communications director for Stonewall DFL
(the GLBT caucus of the MN DFL party).
In the past, I have worked to close GSE, stop the W 7th busway project,
connect the southern part of Ayd Mill Road (no-direct connect plan),
advocate for affordable housing and continue to remind people that basic
human rights and discrimination are issues that never seem to go away.
Normally I lurk, but occasionally I'll post. Mostly I enjoy the lively
discussions and believe that the St. Paul issues forum is of a much
higher caliber than it's Minneapolis counterpart (of which I am also a
member).
The issues that I am looking out for in this year's Mayor's race include
affordable housing (of in my case, working class housing) and
transportation. I am supporting Chris Coleman for the DFL endorsement
based on the screening process of Stonewall DFL.
