Sorry for the late notice, but this League of Women voters event is Free and open to the public. Please consider going! Tell them you read about it on the St. Paul Issues Forum.
It would be great if someone could report back to the forum on the substance of this discussion. I'd live to learn more about what the St Paul Department of Planning and Economic Development is up to.

Dear all,
If you care about St. Paul, you should come to the Member MeetUp
tomorrow night, March 9, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 to hear Susan Kimberly. She is Director of St. Paul Planning and Economic Development. The meeting will be held in the conference room of the Mississippi Market at Selby and Dale in St. Paul.
She will talk about development plans for St. Paul. Late last year she announced the city will concentrate on business development (particularly bioscience) in preference to housing. We in the LWV have always had an interest in the strength of neighborhoods vs. downtown. We are interested in how STAR funds are allocated. We see growing resentment on the part of state officials toward the needs and fund allocations to the center cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul (see today's op ed piece by Cheri Pierson Yecke).
A couple of years ago our consensus on the City Charter indicated we supported separation of the planning and economic development functions of the department she directs.
We are sure you have questions and concerns of your own. Tomorrow night would be a good time to ask them.
