What concerned me most about CM Bostrom's comment
wasn't just the lack of vision, but how one
dimensional he views development.

Building retail and residential together does
something that big box and isolated retail districts
don't do ... they put feet and eyes on the streets,
not cars and barren parking lots. This increases
safety and residential ownership of the areas where
people live.

Apartments and condos aren't going to go above a Cub,
but they will go above a Big Apple Bagels (something
that exists on White Bear), and they will go above a
pared down Kowalski's, or another family grocery
store, something that is needed on White Bear.

Quit designing communities for cars, and start
designing communities for people.
