Dear Friends and Neighbors,
My name is Rachel Kaiyalethe Gillespie and I would like to ask for your support
in my campaign for St. Paul School Board. As a future school board member, my
goal is to continue the great work the school board has done and is doing by
contributing my ideas and a fresh perspective, (especially as a relatively
recent graduate of St. Paul Public Schools).
As a mother with two young daughters, I truly believe in the importance of good
public education, not only for the benefit of my family but also for the future
of St. Paul.
I am currently finishing up my Senior year at the College of St. Catherine
where I am double-majoring in Philosophy and Political Science. I hope to
continue my education and one day teach at the college-level. I would like
every public school kid to be prepared to go on to college, technical school or
fulfilling careers, so that they too can contribute to society and to St. Paul.
I know these are difficult, financially pressing times for the St. Paul School
District. I think that now, more than ever, it is so important to have
different perspectives represented on the school board. I believe a youthful
perspective will be a welcome addition to St. Paul's Board of Education.
