"I as a past participant and known persuasion had already received notices
to remind me of the caucuses, but that many others I knew had no idea about
when and where this year. And while I didn't look hard, I don't remember
seeing any articles jumping out at me from either newspaper. Was there any?"
FOR THE RECORD:
The Pioneer Press published two stories on the caucuses, the morning of the
caucuses. One, included below, listed the times and locations for all the
caucuses and most of the Ward conventions, as well as directions to the
county's precinct finder. We also had a story about the endorsements by
Helgen, Lantry and Benanav that ran on the cover of the Local section, and
included a reference to the caucus story inside.
We also sent three reporters to the caucuses and had a story about them on
the cover of the local section the next day. We've since run separate
articles on the Ward 1, 2 and 5 conventions.

St. Paul's political season opens tonight, with precinct caucuses around the
city marking the first official gatherings for this year's mayoral race.
Republicans will have a single gathering at the St. Paul College, 235
Marshall Ave. Registration will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the caucus will
convene a 30 minutes later.
DFLers will hold caucuses at these nine locations, all starting with
registration at 6:30 p.m. The caucuses will convene 30 minutes later.
-- Ward 1: Rondo Center (blue door), 560 Concordia Ave.
-- Ward 2: Precincts 1-7: Monroe Community School, 810 Palace Ave.
Precincts 8-11: Wellstone Elementary School, 65 E. Kellogg Blvd.
Precincts 12-16: Humboldt High School, 30 E. Baker St.
-- Ward 3: Highland Park Junior High, 975 S. Snelling Ave. A ward convention
immediately will follow the caucuses.
-- Ward 4: Hancock Elementary school, at 1599 Englewood Ave., with a
convention to follow the caucuses.
-- Ward 5: Como Park High School, 740 W. Rose Ave.
-- Ward 6: Johnson High School, 1349 Arcade St., with a convention to
follow.
-- Ward 7: Harding High School, 1540 E. Sixth St., with a convention to
follow.
The Ward 1 convention is scheduled for March 12. The Ward 2 convention will
be March 19, and the Ward 5 -convention is still to be scheduled.

available on the Ramsey County elections bureau Web site at
