This Monday night, March 21, at 7:00 pm at the Martin Luther King/Hallie Q.
Brown Center, 270 N. Kent, there is a community meeting to discuss updated
development scenarios and zoning issues for the southwest corner of
University and Lexington. The key proposal being considered is for a new
TCF bank branch on Lexington just south of White Castle (to view drawings,
go to www.universityunited.com <http://www.universityunited.com/> ). The
TCF proposal is for a one-story bank facing Lexington and a 5-lane drive
through in the back. Additional possible components of the development will
also be presented, including a new headquarters for the Amherst H. Wilder
Foundation, and a possible affordable senior housing development by
Episcopal Homes. Wellington Management, owner/developer of the property
will be in attendance, as well as Ward 1 Councilmember Debbie Montgomery.
One and all are encouraged to attend, comment, and ask questions about how
these development plans are unfolding.
