That little blue helicopter flying around yesterday (Sunday) came
from Harriet Island. Must have been the substitute for the promised
hot-air balloon ride for the Mayor's announcement of his river Front
development ideas.

I went but obviously got there too late. Vendors were already
dismantling their displays and kiosks. Missed most of the 100 or so
who heard the Mayor make his presentation. Must have been short.

I arrived around 1:15, maybe a little later. But didn't stick
around to see about the helicopter ride nor the Paddleford ride.

Erik,

I feel like I've been battling Satan for years. Just when he's
exorcised
from my home, I get a knock on the door and there's Damien on the
stoop
with a bouquet of flowers. The kid freaks me out and the flowers
look like
Audrey II. ("Feed me!!!")

If the coyotes around here start to look like jackals, I'm outta
here...

PPS Did you notice that little helicopter yesterday, low enough
to look
in your bathroom window and then get caught in the transmission
lines?
It was blue & white with this on the side: N91580.

Yes, just what we need are more people with more grand plans and
plenty o'
razzle-dazzle -- and no proven track record at all. At least
Jerry
Trooien has developed a few things in his life to go with his big
plan
across the Mississippi -- what's this guy got? Oh, yeah, he
confessed
what he's got in the PioneerPress article further down:

This isn't a real proposal, folks, this is an attempt to sandbag
the
creditors, which includes all of us with the back taxes owed.
There's no
formal proposal, no track record, no cash on the barrelhead --
nothing
except he's buds with the man that got us here in the first place.

If this city is going to make sure that we are "Open for business",
as so
many want, we have to take the con artists and scammers and flush
them
down before they can get in the way of people who can do the work
and
have reality on their side. This kind of cronyism is the opposite
of what
anyone wants -- the neighborhood, the businesses, anyone. It needs
to be
swatted down hard and fast.
