ENDORSEMENT OF CHRIS COLEMAN BY GEORGE LATIMER
From what I remember of George, he was a good mayor .... However his supporting of Chris Coleman has left me wondering if he just looking to get his name in the paper again.
I am supporting Chris because he will be the kind of mayor St. Paul needs again.
If St Paul needs a mayor who is not concerned with the HEALTH and Sanity of the neighborhoods, drags his feet and opposes neighborhood efforts to clean things up and make the place liveable gives GREAT lip service about how he is trying to fix a problem.... Then we might as well keep Randy.
I trust Chris to invest in our people and neighborhoods. He is a bridge builder who knows that business and commerce flourish where neighborhoods are valued
Well that is not how he treated one of the most densely populated sections of his ward, who were being literily Gassed To Death with Noxious and Cancer Causing compounds. No need to say the name of the company I am talking about I will just COUGH and GAGE from the Stench that was near my home in the W7th area from 2000-2004.
As a city council member, he gave more than lip service to affordable housing, he forged the policy.
Well, gee, isn't that just precious... more concerned with making policy than actually getting his hands dirty when a company makes it impossible to live in your neighborhood.
I trust Chris to be a champion for our kids.
Championed them all right, what about the kids that went to school in the W 7th area? Those that attended all the schools in the W7th area who couldn't open the windows for some FRESH AIR, cause the air outside was more noxious than the air inside.
Most of all, Chris will bring that sense of civic pride, optimism and energy back.
Like he did when he "Feigned interest for long periods of time" when he was on the Council representing Ward 2???
George you a nice guy, I have (had) a great deal of respect for ya, but your frankly a USED TO WAS, and most of these new Imigrants you speak of don't know your name any better than they know mine or most the people on this list. Only us old timers remember you were once the Mayor of St Paul and the good things (and not so) that you did when you were mayor. Today however, there is a whole new crowd in St Paul who frankly don't even know the name of the person who took over for ya.
Chris Coleman as Mayor, what till he decides he wants to run for Congress (like he did while he was still on the council)? Chris is a wanna be in my book... I wanna be a council member, so long as it is handed to me without an opponent, I wanna be a congressman (upps lost that one too), now he wanna be da Mayor.... what next? Senator, State Rep, State Sen, Attorney Gen? Sec of State, Governor, PRESIDENT?????
Chris go back to your law practice and feign interest there, at least the only people you will harm are your clients.
