Hello,
I am a person that loves our libraries also. I am a teacher and make good use of the benefits of a teacher library card.
I will not miss the bookstore on Grand- it was a rather odd store- more gimcracks and gift items than good books. For some reason, I never felt comfortable there. I order books from the internet- mainly because they are available- sometimes a few clicks for something you need that might be somewhat obscure is just fine- I think that people that buy books use all methods of procuring books-used, children's bookstores, chains and independents. I sometimes do not go into a bookstore because I know I will spend money...
I miss Hungry Mind/Ruminator a lot- it was one of the reasons I moved to St. Paul. I heard that Patagonia is moving into the space. sigh.
