While I certainly understand the issue of cultural diversity. I also understand the frustration of having a candidate you support not receiving an endorsement. What I don't understand is how endorsing "white guys" has anything to do with cultural respect and ethnic diversity. To me, Jeanne and others who have commented on this endorsement convention, seem to think because a person of color becomes a candidate for an office, the party should endorse them based on their ethnicity. That means they are automatically biased against any white male running for office. I'm sorry, but I don't vote for a candidate based on his race, color, or creed. I vote for the candidate that best meets my needs for that position. Mike Fratto Payne Phalen

May I point out that one of the 3 school board candidates does not meet this definition. I would also point out that the process was fair and democratic which is what the process should be. -- Jeanne Weigum, freezing along with my tomatoes in Merriam park ------------------------------------------------- JOIN the St. Paul Issues Forum TODAY: http://www.e-democracy.org/stpaul/ ------------------------------------------------- POST MESSAGES HERE: stpaul@mnforum.org To subscribe, modify subscription, or get your password - visit: http://www.mnforum.org/mailman/listinfo/stpaul Archive Address: http://www.mnforum.org/mailman/private/stpaul/ ------------------------------------------------- JOIN the St. Paul Issues Forum TODAY: http://www.e-democracy.org/stpaul/ ------------------------------------------------- POST MESSAGES HERE: stpaul@mnforum.org To subscribe, modify subscription, or get your password - visit: http://www.mnforum.org/mailman/listinfo/stpaul Archive Address: http://www.mnforum.org/mailman/private/stpaul/
