Thanks Richard --
I passed this information along to them.
They indeed had four feet of water in their house. They've been
commuting the last several days from Conroe which makes about an
eighty mile trip each way. And they plan to stay with local friends
from their church starting next week. Apparently they had time before
evacuating to move a lot of stuff to the second floor of the house, so
they didn't lose everything.
We're shipping in clothes toiletries toys blankets and new backpacks
for my granddaughters. It's all girl stuff so I can't even identify
half of it. A few things to make them smile. Japanese erasers seem to
be quite important. and ball point pens with a dolphin on top and
visible mechanism inside that makes a sound. A Barbie and Barbies
little sister. A neighbor threw in a couple of beautiful handmade
quilts. And I'm on standby for anything else they tell me they need.
My ex finally got back to work at the library and can receive packages
and has access to a computer and the internet. They have applied to
FEMA for assistance.
I let them know about the two groups you mentioned.
Thank you Richard, for your advice.
