well it is live coverage on three free to air networks so there is
interest ... the commentry:
 alot of talk about the return of habeous  corpus  and a less
militaristic outlook   ...  a bit of education on the transition
period ... iraq afganistan issues and free trade
all the key politicians have made positive and congratulatory
statements  that did seem to contain real warmth

generally i would say most people are only vaguely interested ..
McCain was seen as elderly
Obama as dynamic Palin as a figure of fun we had a politician here

Ms Palin was the most talked about [ not generally in a good way]
not much was said about Biden

most people i have spoken with recently thought once the Republicians started
on the redistribution of wealth / socialism stuff  they had lost it

mostly i think people will be glad the President is not George W Bush
and that they   hope the administration will reflect a different world view

i think that much like the recent elections here [ last december ]  people
finally got sick of the hubris and it was time for a generational  change .....
