I've always said that science and religion can co-exist. Science will never answer the big question, science will never tell us why we're here, only how. An educated christian can accept that some parts of the bible are metaphorical. You just can't support prominent scientists who can, rightly, remain believers, and simultaneously support whackjobs that think humans have been here for 5,000 years and dinosaur bones have been planted to test their faith. Why not accept Darwanism AND the Bible? Why pick at every little thing as a challenge to your faith? It's corrosive, when it could be an example of how complex God's plan is. Compromise and understanding isn't in your toolbox, Francis. The idea that we're going to have some illuminated discussion about this is a complete joke.
