Starting a fight with the Palestinians is a traditional way to garner votes. It worked for Ariel Sharon, it worked for Benjamin Netanyahu, it working for Tzipi Livni. Both sides are serving the Palestinian people poorly, and it's not being helped by the religious fanatics on all sides.
