here are some pics of how our regeneration is going http://mxara.wordpress.com/2009/02/19/feb-and-the-garden/
apparently it will six years or more before the asparagus fern and bitu bush stop coming up and the morning glory even longer essentially that means constant vigilance we are not planting nursery plants as it is such an old rainforest remnant it is genetically different from other spots so we are just trying to grow the already fallen seed i would like to try seed from the edges if we don't get diversity but apparently even that is not 'best practice' the poisoning was done by the local council .. i don't agree with it their theory is that if one poison doesn't work they will try another then another of course that wont work on the aspidistra etc ... they have to be dug up ... poison just seems to kill the leaves which encourages the rhizomes to send up new leaves and the flowers to seed then more eternal vigilance mx --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "StrataList-OT" group.
