I like to work these backwards: d -- your age, in decades rounded down y -- your age, in years rounded up n -- desired number of chocolates per week
Magic Number: ndy 6. Add the year you were born: f(6) = ndy + (2009 - d*10 - y) = n*100 + 2009 5. Subtract 1759: f(5) = n*100 + 250 4. Divide by 50: f(4) = n*2 + 5 3. Subtract 5: f(3) = n*2 2. Divide by 2: f(2) = n, your weekly chocolate consumption As long as n is a single digit whole number, it should work for anyone less than a century old.
