Oxygen content in water varies with water temperature. Colder water holds more O2 (and other gases) than warm water. Makes for interesting thermodynamic effects and ocean currents. Colder, more oxygen rich water also supports more life and holds more nutrients. Just ask a whale.
Say, while watching Discovery, did you see the guy extract H2 from water using a modest electrical charge, capture it in a bottle, then burn it?
