I think I may be suffering from some severe ignorance of electrical systems.
I know the computers themselves come with 700-1000 watt power supplies, but that's not what they draw continuously, I guess. Looking at Apple's site, it seems like the 27" draws 365w. So, if the computer is the only thing plugged into the UPS, that's the wattage I need? This would do the job? http://tinyurl.com/38em3m6 We have irregular power here. It drops out almost daily, and judging by the occasional dimming lights, fluctuates through the day. So, being able to save and back up when the power dies is important, but power conditioning in general is the important thing, I think.
