Of the very prominent R's who campaigned like mad on the basis of cutting spending, but run like cock-a-roaches from the chance to actually DO it. The Appropriations Committee is the place from whence ALL Government spending flows, because Congress controls the purse strings. It is THE source of the pork flow back to home districts. You would think that people who campaigned on a platform of cutting spending would be killing each other to get ON the committee to turn off the spigot.
