To anyone out there that missed it, I just have to pass on this story. My favourite game of the last console generation was Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath, although it didn't end in a satisfying way (a sequel may have been planned, but the launch of the game was completely botched and the developer basically shut down in spite shortly after).
You play a gunslinging goat bounty-hunter, working for chickens in a spaghetti western with a double-barreled crossbow that shoots sarcastic live animals. I don't think it's a stretch to say that that's probably the most awesome concept ever for a video game, and I believe it's one of the best first person shooters ever made. I see on Gamespot that a collection of all the Oddword games for PC, including "Stranger" will go on sale on Steam before the end of the year. This is the first time the game will see a platform other than the original XBox: http://www.gamespot.com/news/6284924.html The same developer is, apparently, remaking the game for the PlayStation 3 as well: http://move.gamespot.com/updates/index.php?id=6275149 I'm so happy that more than 8 people will finally get to fall in love with this game. I thought the way that EA dumped this game on the market without any marketing support whatsoever. It must be soul-crushing to work so hard on something for so long and then watch it completely disappear. I want to encourage everyone I can tell to support this game. It deserves to be a triple A franchise far more than the endless space-marine games that litter the landscape these days. -- Michael -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "StrataList-OT" group.
