It'd be nice if the SPLC's work bore any relationship to reality. The whole presentation is dubious at best. From one of the comments in the article: "The Southern Poverty Law Center is an amazing machine that raises millions of dollars from nervous northerners to use questionable statistics in problematic ways, in order, mostly, to raise more money from more nervous northerners. It’s not a “left-leaning” anything, except that it leans toward unsuspecting lefties to take their money. Some years ago, the American Institute of Philanthropy gave the SPLC an F for “excessive” reserves! Harpers had a great article on them about ten years ago; Ken Silverstein summarizes it well here: http://www.harpers.org/archive.....1172847076 all this to say, check your sources! Despite its mass mailings, the SPLC has an interest in inflating its statistics." -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "StrataList-OT" group.
