Russell Pearce is the figurehead behind SB1070 (The law was actually written by a anti-immigration demagogue from Kansas) and a whole raft of other wingnut stupidity coming out of the AZ Legislature. He was also the Senate President, and started this legislative session pretty much acting like he had been crowned King of Arizona. Per the AZ constitution, if sufficient signatures are verified, he's out of office immediately. He can run for his old office, of course. This mainly affects the next legislative session, since this one is ended.
