The current law was a republican sponsored bill, signed into law by GWB and HAS THE SUPPORT of companies making incandescent light bulbs. One of our local "legislators" sponsored a similar bill in the state Senate last session. complaining that he puts on different colored socks in the morning because our SocialistKenyanIslamoFascistHippie overlords are forcing him to use fluorescents...despite the fact that you can still buy the damn things if you want to, so apparently Mrs Legislator is a SocialistKenyanIslamoFascistHippie because he wouldn't have bought them, then cynically and hypocritically sponsored this legislation to puff himself up, would he? He's all around a winner...prates on and on about how eeeevil gummint is and it does nothing useful, then in the same paragraph pivots to his heroic service as a soldier in the first gulf war and his career as an engineer for Raytheon, here in Tucson. Raytheon's operations in Tucson are the old Hughes missile plant; they make cruise missiles, various other aircraft-mounted missiles for the Air Force and Navy, and the JDAM bolt-on guidance systems for 'dumb' bombs. He's been a government employee or paid via government contracts his entire adult life.
