DNC Chairwoman Debbie "Blabbermouth" Schultz says the NY-9 has always been a difficult district for the Democrats. I'm not sure she uses the same definition of "difficult" as everyone else.
Some claim they voted against Weprin because of his vote in the state legislature on gay marriage. I'm sure some voted for the Republican for economic reasons, but I don't think they swung the election. But frankly, it was an easy protest vote for the predominantly Jewish population, and they will likely elect another Democrat in 14 months.
