No, what people want is the same easy access to a Doctor that Congress has. (or presidential candidates) and a taste of that 'best health care system in the world'. Like Herman Caine, writing in his book about his recovery from a serious bout with cancer, claiming that he'd die under "obamacare" because some bureaucrat would decide whether he lived or died. Not quite: "...when Cain was first diagnosed with cancer of the colon and liver and a 30 percent chance of survival, he was told that he should go to a specialized cancer center rather than a hospital, namely the M.D. Anderson cancer center in Houston. Not everyone who wants to go to such a top-flight facility gets to go there, however. Plenty of people with private insurance have died waiting for an insurance company functionary to approve such treatment. It can take weeks to get into Anderson, and it requires traveling at short notice, which can only add to the costs. So Cain called his friend T. Boone Pickens, the oil magnate, who used to be on the board of the center and was a big donor to the cancer center. Pickens made a call, and Cain was in." <http://motherjones.com/politics/2011/10/herman-cain-cancer-survival-health-care> America: land of the best medical care wealth and the good-old-boy network can buy. What people are articulating on the streets of NY, however inartfully at times, is that they're tired of the whole thing being rigged by the top 1% for the benefit of the top 1%. Jamie Dimon and I pick up the phone and call the White House, and ask to speak to the President. Who gets through? Who has EVER gotten through? People have been told for 30 years it's gonna rain down on us from heaven, just give to the 1% everything they want, and for thirty years it's gotten worse. Just look at those charts...the numbers don't lie. Productivity has soared, corporate profits have soared, 1%'ers incomes have soared, and now the Forbes 400 own more wealth than half of America, incomes have been stagnant for 30 years and a leading contender for the Republican presidential nomination has a plan to raise everyone's taxes...except for our Galtian Overlords <http://economix.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/10/11/inside-the-cain-tax-plan/> ...and who nonsensically responded to a question about whether food would be taxed under his plan, saying that it would give poor people the freedom to choose between new and used goods. <http://thinkprogress.org/economy/2011/10/12/341817/cain-food-used/> People may not have all these facts and charts to hand, but they goddamn well know that there's a lotta folks like them getting shafted. It's just that the folks at OWS have a clue as to who did it to us. The tea partiers and 53%'ers being used like kleenexes by the 1%'ers, either don't have a clue or don't care so long as they get to rage about the 'others' taking their privilege away. They're the half of us that Jay Gould's heirs are hiring to kill the rest of us...
