Here, our lege is doing its best to wipe out any progress for women from the last 50 years. A brief flurry of interest was generated by a proposed amendment to the bill mandating an ultrasound for every woman seeking an abortion. Despite all the monies spent by our CA against the evil mandates of health reform, that one went through without a whisper of protest, but it lacked the proposed mandate that all prescriptions for erectile disfunction meds require rectal exams and heart condition testing. Those two actually make sense medically; the ultrasound is simply extra expense, one more barrier for low income folks. I still don't understand why all that fervor for the right to life ends at birth.
